Welded and cold drawn tubing also called DOM tubing (Drawn Over Mandrel Tubes ),we manufacure these tubes using standards like ASTM A513 type-5 & -6 or equivalent to meet customers requirements. Drawn over Mandrel (DOM) can be an ideal choice where a high degree of dimensional accuracy is required.
DOM steel tubing is manufactured from electrical resistance welded hollows and cold drawn through a die and over a mandrel, improving surface finish, mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy of both outside and inside diameters. DOM is a high-quality, cost-effective choice for demanding applications and machined parts because of its special characteristics: Combined with reliable weld integrity, Maximum concentricity, and Minimal wall variation.
Mechanical tube sizes
| OUTER DIAMETER (OD) | 12 – 90mm |
| WALL THICKNESS (WT) | 0.8 – 6mm |
While ordering, it is necessary to agree upon the method and means of temporarily protecting the surface of the tubes during transportation and storage.
The tubes may be supplied without temporarily preservation of the surface or with an agreed upon preservative.

Application of precision cold drawn welded steel tube

Gas spring product advantages: excellent dimensional accuracy, straightness, roundness, and roughness
Shock absorber:automotive shock absorber working cylinder, fluid storage tank, train shock absorber, bicycle shock absorber
Product advantages: stable performance, high expansion rate, no burrs
Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) tubing is indeed versatile and widely used in various industries due to its strength, uniformity, and flexibility in applications. The key benefit of DOM tubing is its ability to provide a seamless structure, unlike welded tubes which may have a weak spot at the weld
- Machinery and Hydraulic Systems: DOM tubing is often used in machinery parts and hydraulic systems where strength, durability, and resistance to pressure are critical. Its seamless construction ensures that there are no weak points, making it ideal for high-pressure environments.
- Motorcycle Frames: DOM tubing is commonly used for building motorcycle frames due to its ability to withstand the stresses and strains of high-speed and dynamic movement. Its seamless design also helps in creating a smoother and more reliable structure.
- Bearings: Because of its precision and smooth inner surface, DOM tubing is sometimes used in bearing applications. The lack of seams or welds reduces friction and improves the overall performance and longevity of the bearing.
- Automotive and Aerospace: In these fields, DOM tubing is often used for roll cages, structural components, and other critical parts that require high strength-to-weight ratios and seamless integrity.
